We first met in college. During our second semester, she slowly started developing feelings for me. On 19th May 2019, she finally gathered the courage to confess her love. At that time, I was emotionally invested in someone else, so I couldn’t accept her proposal. But even after that, we remained close friends and stayed connected.
What I didn’t realize then was that she was patiently waiting for her place in my life.
A few months later, after misunderstandings led to the end of my previous relationship, she quietly became the person who stood beside me. Through every conversation, every moment, and every phase of life, we slowly became inseparable. Around November 2020, we officially started dating.
Our journey was never easy.
She comes from a Pure Jain family, while I belong to a South Indian Hindu family. Different cultures, traditions, and expectations often stood in our way. We fought, we broke apart, and we found our way back to each other more times than we can count. But no matter what happened, one thing always remained constant — our love and friendship.
In 2022, when I told my mother about us, she was against our relationship. With heavy hearts, we mutually decided to part ways and stopped talking for almost six months. It was one of the hardest phases of our lives.
Meanwhile, I had plans to move to Germany for higher studies. Somehow, through mutual friends, she came to know that I would be leaving India in October 2023. And then, life surprised us in the most unexpected way.
In September 2023, her parents reached out to my parents expressing their wish for us to get married. Long conversations followed between both families, emotions were shared, concerns were discussed, and finally, on 19th September 2023, my family said “Yes.”
It felt nothing less than a miracle.
But even after finally getting the approval we had waited so long for, another difficult chapter began — distance. I had to move to Germany for my studies, and staying apart became the biggest test of our relationship.
Still, we held on.
In December 2024, I came back to India for our engagement, and on 19th January 2025, we got engaged surrounded by our families and love.
Soon after, I returned to Germany once again, and the distance became even harder than before. But through every lonely day, every video call, every countdown, and every sacrifice, we chose each other again and again.
Finally, in September 2025, I returned to India for good.
And now, after years of waiting, fighting, distance, sacrifices, and endless love… we are finally where we always dreamed of being — together.
On 12th February 2027, we will officially become one.
After everything life put us through, our love still found its way home.
